Manufacturing DFW™ is the result of a collaborative regional effort bringing together employers, educators, workforce organizations, and community partners who are deeply committed to strengthening North Texas’ manufacturing workforce. The initiative is made possible through the active partnership, shared vision, and ongoing support of organizations working together to create stronger pathways to manufacturing careers and economic opportunity.
Employers, educators, and workforce leaders across North Texas recognized a growing gap: key industries in the Dallas–Fort Worth region were struggling to find enough qualified technicians, while many individuals lacked clear access to the training and pathways needed to reach well-paying manufacturing careers.
Traditional outreach and fragmented efforts were not enough to meet the scale of demand. It became clear that a more connected, coordinated regional approach was needed to align education, industry, and workforce development—and better prepare talent for the future of manufacturing in DFW.
In response to ongoing feedback from employers, educators, and workforce partners across North Texas, Manufacturing DFW™ emerged as a coordinated initiative focused on addressing two core challenges: strengthening the perception of manufacturing careers and expanding the pipeline of skilled technicians needed across the region.
Manufacturing DFW™ is built on strong regional collaboration between industry, workforce, and community partners committed to closing the manufacturing skills gap in North Texas. Together, Vistra Corp. and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, alongside employers, educators, and workforce leaders, are helping shape a coordinated ecosystem that strengthens training pathways and connects learners directly to in-demand manufacturing careers across the DFW region.
Manufacturing DFW™ is expanding a connected network of employers, training providers, and educational institutions across North Texas. The initiative is designed to scale alongside the region’s growing manufacturing economy, creating a sustainable ecosystem that strengthens talent pipelines and supports long-term career opportunities for generations of DFW workers.
