This is not a search problem. It is an inventory problem, and it is ours to fix. DFW manufacturers run work-based learning, youth apprenticeships, and summer internships. [Describe what is actually posted on the DFW platform today, from real data.] The rest of those programs exist and are not posted. So a student who arrives from a counselor's recommendation searches, finds one listing, and concludes manufacturing has nothing for people like them.
We could hide it by folding every role type into one list. We'd rather show the counts, including the zeros, and go get the listings. If you run a youth apprenticeship or a work-based learning placement, posting it is free and takes about ten minutes.
No ghost postings
Every role here is either actively hiring or honestly labelled.
The employer confirmed this opening within the last 30 days. If they don't reconfirm, it does not stay green. It moves to the state below rather than quietly going stale.
No confirmed opening today, but this employer wants candidates for this role. If you're two years from finishing a credential, this is the label that matters to you. It tells you who will be hiring when you're ready.
Known gap, stated plainly: most live listings do not currently carry a posted or expiry date in the platform data. [Share of DFW records with a posted or expiry date, from real data.] Until that is backfilled, the age shown on a card comes from the listing's own posted date where it exists, and cards without one say so. A date-free listing is exactly how ghost postings survive, which is why it is on the fix list rather than hidden.
The 30-day rule is applied to each listing's published posted date, which is why roles posted two months ago show as "building a bench" even though the platform currently flags all [###] as live. That is the mechanic doing its job: no employer has reconfirmed those openings, so they don't get a green light.
